* Keuka received high marks from U.S. News & World Report in the 2010 edition of its annual college guide, “
* Keuka was among a select group of colleges, universities and trade schools to garner Military Friendly School Status from G.I. Jobs magazine. The list, representing just 15 percent of all schools nationwide, was published in the “Guide to Military Friendly Schools” (www. militaryfriendlyschools.com/mfspr).
* The College hosted a Rochester Area Colleges—Center for Excellence in Math and Science summer institute on “Using Zebra Mussels for Good, Not Evil: Hands-on Experiments and Modeling Activities” July 27-31. Six area middle and high school teachers attended the institute that featured lectures, lab experiments, and lake investigations led by faculty members Tim Sellers, Michael Keck and Joyce Monje.

Alumni Amy Pfeffer and Frank Umbrino honored
* Rochester Police Department Officer Amy Pfeffer and Lt. Frank Umbrino, who were among the five officers and two lieutenants credited with helping save the life of Officer Anthony DiPonzio, were honored at the Chi Alpha Lambda chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) induction ceremony. * Three weeks after the College did farewell to the Class of ’09 at commencement, it welcomed back alumni at reunion.
* John Brezinsky, longtime food service manager, died June 1 after long illness. He was 84. A room in the Geiser Refectory carries his name.
