Yates County Focus of Community Luncheon
Updated: Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Linehan and Pinckney will tell "what's up" in Yates County
Keuka College’s Community Luncheon Series will continue Thursday, June 19, with a talk by Mike Linehan, president of the Yates County Chamber of Commerce and Barbara Pinckney, chair of the Community Center Project
Linehan and Pinckney will discuss “What’s Happening” in Yates County at noon in the Gannett Room of the Lightner Library.
After moving to Penn Yan nearly two decades ago, Linehan became involved in the hospitality and tourism industries. He holds degrees from St. John Fisher, Corning Community College, Finger Lakes Community College, and University of Oklahoma’s Institute for Organizational Management.
Linehan serves on Keuka College’s Community Associates Board, Finger Lakes Region Tourism Promotion Agencies Advisory Board, and the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital Foundation Advisory Committee. He is past president and treasurer of the New York State Travel and Vacation Commerce Executives, and is a member of the Chamber Alliance of New York State.
Pinckey began working in Keuka’s development office in the 1960s, just as the campaign to raise funds for Norton Chapel got under way. She credits her experiences at Keuka for aiding her in her position as a volunteer. The Community Center Project, the Yates Concert Series (which sponsors summer concerts on the courthouse lawn), and her church are among the organizations that benefit from her time and talents.
Tickets are $10.50 in advance ($11 at the door), $2.50 of which goes to the Penn Yan Keuka Club Scholarship Fund. The fund provides an annual scholarship to a local student attending
