Honor societies hold induction ceremonies
Students were recently inducted into the Keuka chapters of the Sigma Tau Delta, Alpha Mu Gamma and Sigma Beta Delta honor societies.
Sigma Tau Delta
Sigma Tau Delta's central purpose is to confer distinction upon students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature.
Candidates for Sigma Tau Delta must hold a minimum cumulative grade-point-average (GPA) of 3.0, and an English GPA of 3.2.

Inducted into Sigma Tau Delta were Nicole Froniear, a senior unified childhood/special education major from Ontario; Lindsey Staples, a junior English major from Falconer; Samantha Johnston, a junior unified childhood/special education major from Altamont; and Stephanie Grover, a junior psychology major from Martville.
Alpha Mu Gamma
Alpha Mu Gamma, the national collegiate foreign language honor society, honors students for outstanding achievement during their first year of college-level, foreign language study. However, students may be admitted at any point in their college careers. Upon initiation, a member receives a parchment certificate of membership and may wear the society’s scroll-shaped gold key or pin.
Candidates for Alpha Mu Gamma must hold a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 3.0 and must have
completed two intermediate level courses (level 200 and above) in the language with a grade of A or A-.

Inducted into Alpha Mu Gamma were Beth Gordon, a junior American Sign Language-English interpreting major from Schoharie; Dana Krysczak, a junior American Sign Language-English interpreting major from Cheektowaga; Brittany Wert, a sophomore American Sign Language-English interpreting major from Farmington; and Stephanie Wittich, a sophomore American Sign Language-English interpreting major from Wichita, Kan.
Sigma Beta Delta
Sigma Beta Delta is the international honor society for business, management, and administration.
Candidates for Sigma Beta Delta must hold a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 3.5, rank in the top 20 percent of their class, and completed half of the business and management degree program.

Inducted into Sigma Beta Delta were Laura Williams, a junior management major from Odessa; Khala Johnson, a senior marketing major from Fillmore; Joseph Crane, a junior marketing major from Palmyra; Amanda Christofferson, a junior management major from Dryden; James Fitch, a junior management major from Perry; Meghan Morales, a junior management major from Delhi; Cassandra Harrington, a junior marketing major from Romulus; Christina Nyman, a junior marketing major from Webster; and Eric Wilmott, a junior management major from Dundee.
