Five Recognized by Board

Harris, Klingensmith, Santelli, Wannall, and Weed
The Board of Trustees recently promoted five faculty members:
- Amanda Harris, from assistant professor to associate professor of organizational communication and English.
- Katherine Klingensmith, from associate professor to professor of biology and environmental science.
- Jeanine Santelli, from associate professor to professor of nursing.
- Jean Wannall, from associate professor to professor of occupational therapy.
- Anne Weed, from associate professor to professor of English.
The promotions are effective August 2008.
Harris joined the Keuka faculty in 1999 after serving as director of internal communications and employee relations at TRW in
During her tenure at Keuka, Harris has created several courses, including Communication Theory; served on various committees; and was adviser (Sam Walton Fellow) to the Students in Free Enterprise team. She received the Presidential Award for Sustained Outstanding Service in 2004.
She earned a Master of Science degree in corporate communications from

Klingensmith came to Keuka in 1996 as an adjunct faculty member and became an assistant professor the following year. Prior to that, she taught at
The recipient of the Faculty Development Committee’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 2005, Klingensmith is a specialist in limnology (the study of fresh water) and has conducted extensive ecological research and published several professional articles. She has taken a lead role in many greening initiatives on campus including the Earth Day Celebration and Film Festival.

Santelli joined the College’s nursing faculty in 1994 and was named associate vice president for academic programs in 2007. That same year, she received the Keuka College Nursing Society’s Nancy D. Bailey Memorial Award and the Keuka College Alumni Association’s Professional Achievement Award.

She has published numerous articles in professional publications and delivered presentations as part of the National Endowment for the Humanities Public Library Lecture Series, at the Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture Association Conference, and Annual Central New York Conference on Language and Literature. Weed chaired the Faculty Development Committee in 2003-04 and was involved in the Middle States Association reaccreditation process from 1999-2001.
