Diamond schedules Italy Group Field Period meeting May 5
Keuka College Professor of History Sander Diamond is planning to lead a Group Field Period to Italy in January 2009 and he will conduct an information/interest session Monday, May 5 at 6 p.m. in Hegeman Hall lobby.
The trip is open to all Keuka students, their families, alumni, and members of the community.
The Field Period will focus on the Roman empire, Pompeii, the common Judeo-Christian heritage, the Renaissance, and modern Italy. Highlights of the tour will include such cities as Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, and the island of Capri.

Diamond has led Group Field Periods since 1974 to the former USSR, Germany and Central Europe, Poland, England, France, Israel, Jordan and six times to Italy, among others.
The estimated cost of the trip is $3,950, which is all-inclusive (airfare, hotels, tours, fees, breakfast and dinner).
“Traveling in January keeps the cost down and permits us to enter all sites with no crowds,” said Diamond.
If you are interested in going on the trip, but can’t attend the May 5 session, or for more information, contact Diamond at (315) 536-4689.
