Attica's Peter Kosek selected Experiential Learner of the Year
Attica resident Peter Kosek, a senior at Attica Senior High School, is the recipient of Keuka College’s Experiential Learner of the Year Award for 2007-08.
Kosek, who will receive a full academic fellowship to Keuka, was presented the award during a meeting of the Keuka College Board of Trustees Feb. 29.

Since September, the College has presented Experiential Learner of the Month Awards to high school students from across
Keuka, the national leader in experiential, hands-on learning, established the program to honor high school students whose commitment to experiential, hands-on learning has made a difference in their communities.
Mary Beth Hardie, a guidance counselor at
“Pete has been an exemplary student for this high school for the past four years,” said Hardie. “He is a student who challenges himself in every way possible in the classroom and has taken a rigorous course load. He will graduate first in his class.”
Kosek has been active in such clubs and organizations as Reality Check, National Honor Society, and
The consummate student-athlete, Kosek has been a member of the varsity baseball team since 10th grade and was an all-league selection last season. He has run varsity cross country since eighth grade and was captain of the team this past season. Kosek also plays trombone in the high school band and was selected second chair for the all-county band last year.
Kosek donates his time and talents to his church and tutors students in subjects ranging from calculus to French.
The Experiential Learner of the Month Award-winner has been featured on television stations throughout central, western, and northern
The participating stations include WTVH, Channel 5, Syracuse (CBS); WHAM, Channel 13, Rochester (ABC); WKBW, Channel 7, Buffalo (ABC); WWNY, Channel 7, Watertown (CBS); and WBNG, Channel 12, Binghamton (CBS).
